Artist’s Note: This colourful landscape was inspired by my love of The Burren National Park in the West of Ireland.  The painting is of the top of Slieve Elva, the highest mountain in The Burren and my art studio looks out towards it.  I love watching the changing light of the day on the mountain range and this is the 1st painting of a new series of 8 paintings.

The painting has a 3D quality to it as it there is a layer of beach sand from Fanore, in the mountain grikes and outline of the mountain. When the natural light shines on the painting the mountain and grasses seem to come alive which adds to the interest of the painting.
